Cellnex incorporates 270 new towers in France
The company closes the second phase of its agreement with Bouygues Telecom, extending the portfolio of towers acquired to the French operator to 500
Cellnex Telecom and Bouygues Telecom have closed the second phase of the agreement announced last July, which, in the first phase that ended on September 16, included the addition of 230 towers to Celnex France for mobile telephony transmission equipment.
In this second phase, Cellnex incorporates 270 towers that represent an investment of 67 million euros and adds to the 80 million of the first asset package. In this way, the investment accumulated in the acquisition of the 500 towers amounts to 147 million euros.
The towers included in the two lots purchased are effectively integrated into Cellnex and are now operated by the company, in a gradual process that allows administrative procedures to be completed with the owners of the sites where the towers are located and, where applicable. , local administrations. This incorporation process, begun this past September, will last until mid-2017.
As reported at the time of the agreement, the operation opens a long-term collaboration path with one of the main mobile telephony operators in France. The acquisition of this portfolio of towers is accompanied by a contract for the provision of Cellnex services to Bouygues Telecom that extends for a period of 20 years.
The 500 towers acquired will provide an income, in the first 12 full months (run rate), around 13 million, including services to other customers.
