Artificial intelligence is capable of retouching photos
Facebook creates a tool that works on a 'smartphone' without wasting computational power
Facebook has gone one step further in its race to deploy artificial intelligence in its services. The latest announcement has been the launch of Caffe2Go and a set of models that make small photo retouching.
This innovative software is formed by neural networks that transform images directly. The main change that the application presents is that the entire computing is done from the smartphone itself.
Mark Zuckerberg's company joins other multinationals in the sector such as Apple and Google, which have already introduced artificial intelligence in software that runs on the device itself and not in the cloud.
With Caffe2Go, the company seems to have discovered a way to integrate the AI into the device itself in many more products.
This could include the recognition of gestures or images in the near future, and it is not difficult to imagine that it adopts a similar approach to feed voice recognition or sound synthesis.
